2015 Spring Speaker Series - Gary Patterson
Impossible Possibilities (IP) hosted its Advisory Board (AB) spring Speaker Series on Thursday, April 30, at the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth.
The AB is comprised of individuals who share a common belief in education. As part of the AB, the organization hosts a semiannual Speaker Series, which features private talks by accomplished professionals.
Gary Patterson, Head Football Coach at Texas Christian University (TCU), spoke to the AB members in attendance about the principles that have helped him succeed, both personally and professionally. He also discussed the importance of community involvement and helping others.
“It was a great opportunity to have Coach Patterson come out and support Impossible Possibilities as our spring speaker,” Executive Director Joshua Hernandez said. “I think it’s safe to say we all have a greater appreciation for what he’s doing at TCU after learning more about his background and the many obstacles he has had to overcome to get to where he is today.”
Patterson has become synonymous with TCU and Fort Worth since taking over the Horned Frogs head coaching position in December 2000. He is the all-time winningest coach at TCU, and led the Horned Frogs to a 2014 Big 12 Championship in just its third season in the conference.
In addition, Patterson led TCU to back-to-back BCS appearances in the 2009 and 2010 seasons, including a 2011 Rose Bowl victory, where the team finished second in the polls with a 13-0 record, its first perfect campaign since winning the National Championship in 1938.
