IP Receives $20,000 in Grants
Impossible Possibilities (IP) received $20,000 in grants from the Miles Foundation of Fort Worth ($10,000), the Ryan Foundation of Fort Worth ($5,000) and Texas Capital Bank ($5,000) for program related expenditures
The funds will be used in part to support the organization’s Scholarship Initiative, which awards $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors. Since 2009, IP has awarded 37 scholarships to local students, totaling more than $60,000.
In addition, a portion of the funds will be allocated toward IP’s Maven’s Milestones program, an incentive-based reading achievement program that supports literacy for more than 1,300 elementary school students, as well as the organization’s Sik’lik program, an annual youth poetry slam and writing workshop that provides middle and high school students a forum to express their creativity and enhance their writing and presentation skills.
“We wanted to thank the Miles Foundation, Ryan Foundation, and Texas Capital Bank for their generous contributions and support,” Vice President Justin Hernandez said. “These investments will allow us to continue making an impact in the lives of students here in the Tarrant and Dallas counties.”
