Advisory Board 2014 Spring Speaker Series
Impossible Possibilities (IP) hosted its Advisory Board (AB) Spring Speaker Series on Thursday, May 15, at Times Ten Cellars in Fort Worth.
The AB consists of junior and senior level members in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. As part of the AB, the organization hosts a semiannual Speaker Series and invites prominent businessmen and women to speak about their respective industries.
Eric Hyman, current Athletic Director (AD) for Texas A&M University, discussed his background in collegiate athletics, his principals for building a successful program, and the challenges he faced as A&M transitioned from the Big 12 into the Southeastern Conference.
“We really appreciate Mr. Hyman taking the time out of his busy schedule to speak about his career path,” Executive Director Joshua Hernandez said. “It’s inspiring to hear his story and the obstacles he had to overcome to achieve success in such a competitive industry.”
Prior to joining Texas A&M, Hyman served as AD for seven years at the University of South Carolina, where he led the school to national prominence with back-to-back baseball national championships in 2010 and 2011. Hyman also served as the AD for Texas Christian University (TCU) from 1997-2005, during which time he was named the 2004 National Athletic Director of the Year.
